Our clubrooms and home grounds are situated at Ngatitoa Domain, off State Highway 1 at Paremata, and consist of three playing fields and floodlit training areas.
As a result of an amalgamation between Paremata and Plimmerton clubs in 1959 the Club has had both the high times and the low. We are part of a region that has a strong rugby tradition and friendly rivalry, including neighbouring clubs such as Norths and Tawa. Paremata-Plimmerton reached what is now Premier status in the 80’s and have always had a reputation of providing development and skills to players. Our teams are competitive on the paddock and enjoy the after-match catch up in the club’s friendly and vibrant atmosphere.
The 2006 season included Senior 1, Senior 3, Under 19s and Reserve 3, plus our over 30 year old President’s and the Golden Oldie “Jugglers” teams. Training normally consists of two nights, Tuesday and Thursday with preseason fitness training at the Club from mid January 2007. The Reserves and Presidents teams train on Wednesdays.
The Paremata-Plimmerton Rugby Club prides itself on providing good rugby for young people. There has always been a strong junior section at the Club with Christian Cullen playing here in his earlier days.
In 2007 we are keen to see two age-grade teams develop (Under 19s and Under 21s). From these grades young players of promise can gain further experience in our Senior 1st and 3rd teams. We provide playing gear (boots excluded) and have modest fees with flexible arrangements for paying these. The club has a very strong social culture and an excellent community spirit. Where young people, especially school leavers are weighing up where they want to play their rugby in 2007, Paremata-Plimmerton RFC would welcome any consideration to make their first year out of college in club rugby enjoyable and successful. We would be delighted to hear from those who may be interested by contacting any of the people below.
