Rongotai College is the venue for this Saturday’s representative sevens tournament, a warm-up tournament leading up to the three regional tournaments in early December.
The eight-team tournament starts at 10.00am and concludes before 3.00pm.

The teams are divided evenly between two pools in a round-robin format, heading towards the knockout matches that see 4 v 4, 3 v 3, 2 v 2 and then 1 v 1 at the end of the day’s 17 match programme.
A group of 25 players will be taking the field for the two evenly mixed Wellington teams at Rongotai College on Saturday. Following this, Wellington will be heading to Pukekohe next weekend for the annual Counties-Manukau tournament, followed by the Piri Weepu tournament in Wainuiomata and then the regional qualifiers the following week.
The three regional tournaments on Saturday 1 December are in Levin (Central), Cambridge (northern) and Timaru (Southern).
Meanwhile, the Wellington women’s squad travels to Palmerston North this Saturday to play pre-season matches against the Manawatu and Hawke’s Bay squads. They then play in the annual Settler’s Honey tournament in Wanganui next weekend.
The official Wellington men’s and women’s squads will be selected prior to the Central Sevens tournament.
