Malo Tuitama ? an ace of try-scorers

Malo Tuitama (pictured above in last month's Wellington Premier1 final) was a prolific try scorer for the Scots College First XV. In 37 games he scored 60 tries. Malo only failed to score a try in eight games. Malo scored tries in the Wellington semi-final, final and National Top Four semi-final and final. Malo's try scoring feats rank alongside the greats of First XV rugby.

John Timu scored 92 tries in 55 games for Lindisfarne College between 1985 and 1987. Grant Batty scored 112 tires for Kuranui College between 1967 and 1969. In 1969, Batty scored 61 tries in 20 games.

Bernie Fraser scored at least 50 tries for St. Paul's College between 1970 and 1972. Jason Bowie scored 78 tires in 61 games for Wanganui Collegiate between 1987 and 1989. There have been many more prolific try scorers in First XV rugby. Malo Tuitama ranks alongside the best of them.

As well as scoring 60 tries, Malo has set up many more for this teammates, while he's also crossed the chalk numerous times in Sevens rugby.

The New Zealand Secondary Schools? team gets named today, with local fans hoping that Malo's included.
