Nash Cup kicks off this weekend

A much anticipated 2012 Hawke's Bay Premier club rugby season kicks off this Saturday with the first round of Nash Cup matches.

Starting this weekend, the ten Premier sides will battle it out over nine weeks of round-robin action to decide the first round title, which was won by Napier Technical last year.

Following the Nash Cup, the teams then play for the Maddison Trophy, won by Napier Pirates last season.

As well as first round Premier matches on Saturday, an eight-team preseason Colts tournament will be contested at Taradale. The format sees each team play three matches with 15-minute halves.

The first round Nash Cup draw is:

Tamatea v Napier Old Boys-Marist at Bill Mathewson Park
Central HB v Havelock North at? Central Park
MAC v Taradale at Ron Giorgi Park
Clive v Napier Tech Old Boys at Farndon Park
Napier Pirates v Hastings RS at Tremain Field
